Official statistics on recognised Excess Time Events in Wales and associated jurisdictions.
In the year to 31 March 2026 the Department recognised 184 Excess Time Events in Wales. Four were assessed as more than local.
The overwhelming majority of citizens did not knowingly encounter an event.
Coincidence remains the most common first account offered to officers. It is recorded. It is not accepted as a complete explanation.
